My sister's cat just attacked me for the first time in years. He used to be my cat when he was a kitten, and he became very wild for some reason so I gave him to her because she could tame him well. I rescued him when he was a tiny kitten and I bottle fed him, taught him how to eat, etc. When he started growing up though he became wild and would attack anyone. Literally we could be sitting with him as he played with his toys and he would turn around and jump at us and latch on and bite like crazy. Anyway as he got older now (he's six years old now) he's a lot more mellow and my sister rarely has issues with him and even I can pet him (for some reason I was the person he would attack the most, despite the fact that I bottle raised him?).

But today he got in my room and I was going to pick him up to get him back to her room, as I usually do when he comes here without my sister to supervise him, and he latched on to my leg like he used to do years ago. Lucky I had thick, long pants on and he didn't hurt my leg, but when I managed to get him to my sister's room and was going to try to unlatch him from my leg, he jumped at my arm and scratched it! I managed to pull away before he latched on, though. Otherwise my arm would be destroyed right now. I got away with a few scratches. But that was scary! And also very upsetting because this cat was pretty much normal now. I have no idea why he's so wild and especially with ME out of all people, the person who rescued him when he was an abandoned baby and bottle fed him and basically saved his life.

I think the reason he attacks me is because when he was little, he would play attack me and I would let him because I thought I should play with him like I was also a cat, since he had no litter of kittens to play with 🤦🏻‍♀️. I was dumb. It was my first time raising a kitten since he was a literal baby, so I didn't know I was giving him a very bad habit of attacking me.
